Development of a Standard: Phase 3

Maintain

Note that this maintenance phase depends upon the successful completion of Phase 2: Implement and works in parallel with Phase 4: Govern.

The information in this page is available as a graphical flowchart.

Step One: Determine the Lead Agency to Maintain the Standard

The Requirements of a Lead Agency template(doc 494219) is available from e-gif@ssc.govt.nz.

The Lead Agency (as appropriate) works with the International Standards Bodies to influence the development of the Standard. The Lead Agency presents the Standard to:

  • Technical Committee Meeting
  • Annual Conference

Step Two: Implement the Standard at other Agencies

The Lead Agency implements the Standard at other agencies. A minimum of three agencies is required before the Standard is considered Recommended.

The Lead Agency provides training and support to other agencies implementing the Standard.

Step Four: Maintain the Working Group

The Lead Agency maintains the Working Group for consultation and advice.
