Sources of information

The following sources of information were used to collate the data during 2003/2004 for this paper:

  • web searches on national and international government, academic, business and community developments and activity related to offline and online participation
  • presentations and discussions with Steven Clift, e-democracy expert, who visited NZ in July 2004
  • interviews with selected key informants in government agencies and feedback on earlier draft papers
  • reference to other New Zealand government initiatives such as Managing for Outcomes and the draft Digital Strategy
  • research on New Zealanders' Internet use and demand for online government information and services commissioned by the E-government Unit.
