Participants in e-government
The E-government Strategy is an all-of-government strategy which enables a system of world class professional State Services serving the government of the day and meet the needs of New Zealanders. It is also inclusive, in that all arms of government, including local government, are encouraged and invited to take part in the programme. E-government means State servants should think of themselves as part of a single enterprise that has many points of delivery and interaction with the people it serves.
The State Services Commission provides leadership and support, develops strategy and policy, facilitates, fosters collaboration and coordinates, and assesses progress towards e-government goals. It also develops and operates some of the all-of-government infrastructures needed for e-government.
Agencies deliver e-government, using ICT to help achieve outcomes, and building on the foundations they have created with the SSC and other agencies. Agencies can use this Strategy to help shape their individual or sector work programmes to move government towards the goals.
