Summary

There are two sets of requirements imposed on agencies by e-government - mandatory and discretionary:

Mandatory

Departments must give effect to requirements of the following Cabinet minutes:

  • E-government Strategy

  • Authentication

  • Implementing Government E-Procurement

  • Funding processes for E-government Initiatives

  • Use of New Zealand Government Locator Service Metadata Standard

  • New Zealand e-Government Interoperability Framework

  • Information security

Discretionary

Departments should, as part of their implementation of the e-government strategy, meet requirements relating to:

  • E-government portal

  • Service delivery architecture

  • Web guidelines

  • E-services

  • S.E.E. PKI

  • S.E.E. Mail

  • Assessment
